Now, seven years after that trip, I'm surprised about the freshness of my good memories. I've forgotten the unpleasant moments, but I learned my lesson: never go with a big group again. I am not sure if that gives any meaning other than you had a memorable experience over there. Yes, you didn't enjoy nice walks in the streets of cairo, and was bothered by the smoke, the cars and the noise - but Cairo is not the place for a relaxed trip. It's a city where adventures take place, where exploration and observation are the keys to finding out its core essence. Of course a couple of days in several sites is not really allowing you to get anything but a first on-the-surface impression, but there's much there than just horrible bus trips and empty pyramids...
